Ford India reported 22.46pc decline in total sales in May this year at 5,993 units as it sold a total of 7,729 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales also went down by 33.69pc to 4,002 units as against 6,036 units in the same month last year. The company exported 1,991 units last month compared to 1,693 units in the year-ago period, registering a growth of 17.6pc. Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India Vice President (Sales) Anurag Mehrotra said: "Despite the difficult industry situation we are confident of the long-term potential of the Indian market. Stronger export sales are a clear sign that our One Ford plan is working with more products that consumers want and value."
